Antonio Rullez - is a beloved artist being featured for his second time consecutively as one of our "Artists In Residence." This Aussie singer/songwriter, actor, dancer...you name it, has a very bright future and another amazing year to look forward to.
This is our second in the new feature entitled; "Getting Up Close To..." which we had an amazing time with Darren Cinque and thought to continue with yet another artist of his caliber; Antonio! This series is rather not a lengthy typical article for an interview though different questions that will get one to know the person not only the artist. Now, enjoy getting up close to....Antonio Rullez!
- What have you learned today? That the same song can be composed in a number of different ways (in terms of some slight variations) and still work really well.
- What is one item on your "bucket list" and why? Perform and/or record a duet with Kelly Clarkson because she is one of my favorite artists and I think one of the best and most inspiring pop vocalists of all time..
- Favorite track of all time? It depends on whether it's a slower or more up-tempo track, but in relation to ballads, "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi.
- It's 3 am and the party is winding down, what track do you play to get everyone going again? "DJ Got Us Falling In Love" by Usher.
- Who are your top 3 acts right now? Selena Gomez, Jason Derulo and Alessia Cara.
- If you couldn't work in music, what would you be doing instead? Well, I already do a great deal of coaching/mentoring in singing, acting and piano in addition to performing and songwriting and if not this, I would probably be a full-time playwright and/or novelist.
- What is your favorite live performance from an artist and why? I have so many that I love but one of my very favorites is a duet between Brian McKnight and Josh Groban of the classic song, "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
- What was the last book you read? "Vocal Wisdom: Maxims of Giovanni Battista Lamperti".
- Favorite thing on TV? "Pretty Little Liars" and more recently, I've been watching Disney Channel a lot, so I also love "Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Austin & Ally".
- Are you afraid of anything? Snakes, at times.
- Tell us something people don't know about you... I am a fast runner, but shh, haha, it's a secret ;)
- What are you doing tomorrow? Singing & Acting/Theatre coaching and song rehearsal.
- What is a fun fact about you growing up? When I was about three years old, I used to love listening to Stevie Wonder records and scratching the vinyl records (sometimes, a lot..) on the record player. This may be part of the reason why I have loved DJing since my teens.
- What is your favorite quote? "Practice like you've never won. Perform like you've never lost." - Bernard F. Asuncion.
