Audra McDonald wants to "Go Back Home"

Audra McDonald - The five-time Tony Award-winning actress sets out for a new musical journey with her new album entitled; "Go Back Home." This album is Audra's first album released since her last in 2006 entitled; "Build A Bridge." Audra's new album is never a disappointment from start to finish.

As of recent, Audra has had hugely successful venues in acting where many people will remember her for the "The Sound Of Music Live" where she shown audiences once again she is a force to be reckoned with in both the acting and vocals where she can outshine and truly pour her heart into all

roles and songs sung. Moreover as of recent Audra has received her 5th Tony in "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess" in 2011.

"Go Back Home" boasts some lovely tunes with it's opener being "The Scottsboro Boys" from Kander & Ebb. From there Audra delivers; "The Glamorous Life" from the Stephen Sondheim theatrical production of "A Little Night Music." "Baltimore" is another tune that is covered on the album which brings a much needed lighter feel then the much more dramatic stories of the prior tracks. One of the best tracks on this entire album that I adore is "I'll Be Here" from Ordinary Days which is so heart felt and awakens you with the powerful message. Lastly, another lovely look at love in a lighter view is "Married Love" which is from the Michael John LaChuisa's musical Marlene Dietrich's ABC. It is an actual musical from a book written by Marlene Dietrich and her view of all things related to love.

For any Audra McDonald fan you will love this album and the musical genius she truly is for selecting such artfully enriched songs and doing each justice. This year Audra is also touring and she is one class act worth seeing:
