The Beat's Best of September 2013!

September 2013, has been a very eventful time for "Let The Beat Hit You!" We have covered such great exclusive interviews with three hot musical artists: Chris Burke, Alex Serra, & Luca Savazzi.

We had the pleasure to meet with each artist and find out some great insights along with knowing each is a great singer worthy of everyone's awareness.

Chris Burke:

Alex Serra:

Luca Savazzi:

Special Features from September:

We also featured great articles this month from artists such as: Berlin, London Grammar, Britney Spears, 98 Degrees, Celine Dion, Olly Murs, Sara Evans, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton.

Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton: "You Cannot Make Old Friends"

Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton team-up for a brand new duet: "You Can't Make Old Friends"
The single is available now. Rogers’ new album, You Can’t Make Old Friends, is due out October 8th, and is his first major release in seven years. This is a duet collaboration that ever since I was young was a sheer pleasure hearing these vocally gifted singers/songwriters work together and blend their talents. The great hits and then when watching they seemed to be right at home where it just happened to have cameras and fans watching.

These country music greats have collaborated together with the very first being: "Islands in the
Stream" in 1983 which was a mega hit (topping both the pop and country charts). CMT named this song the number one best duet of all time. Not bad work! Fans loved it and still hold this song (including myself very close) to this day. We celebrate thirty years since that duet and now very fitting comes the new collaboration with the new single from Rogers forthcoming album.

Other songs that Rogers/Parton did in the 1980's and 1990's were; "Real Love" in 1985 and "Love is Strange" (1990). The duo went out in 1985 on the "Real Love" tour. Also, did a movie together entitled; "Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton: Together." And one of my all other all time favorites is their collaboration on a Christmas album "Once Upon a Christmas" (1984) that also had a TV special.

Luca Savazzi "I Feel Good" (exclusive interview)

Luca Savazzi is an accomplished singer, actor, songwriter, model, and entrepreneur of his own record label (Luca Savazzi Music along with graphic companies) and calls the Netherlands his home. Luca has appeared on the television hit; "The Voice" (Holland) along with collaborating with some of the best producers and artists in the world. Already under his belt is an album entitled; "No Doubt" along with hit tracks; "Come Along" "I Miss You" & "I Feel Good." Luca's music is reaching the global markets with his thought provoking lyrics which hits the pulse of music lovers all over. Currently, Luca has appeared on various reality television shows, popular performances from his touring, hosting on TV, voice-overs for radio/commercials, and being one of the leading actors in a new Dutch film (filming this fall) amongst many other thrilling career milestones. 2013, will be a terrific year for Luca Savazzi who wants to take you on his great journey that you will surely LOVE!

It has been a true pleasure conducting this interview with such a down to earth person. A very informative interview where Luca states:

"But the most important thing for me is to follow my heart and be myself....Even though I'm self-taught in music and piano playing from the age of six, I wanted to learn and grow more in my fields of interest; therefore I took music and acting classes in both Holland and Italy..."  ~ Luca Savazzi

Luca Savazzi is a person who truly adores his profession and it is clear he is here to stay. Here is one artist that is a quadruple threat utilizing the global stage and making his presence known.

Berlin is an "Animal" with a new album!

Berlin - the hot New Wave band from the 1980's who made songs like "Metro" "Sex (I'm A...)" "No More Words" and one of their biggest hits "Take My Breath Away" which was part of the "Top Gun" (1986) soundtrack now has a brand new seventh album released entitled; "Animal."

Berlin & "Animal":
Berlin's brand new album entitled "Animal" is the seventh album from the band and it keeps true to their musical roots. The brand new album is now available  as of September 17th on Something-Music/INgrooves Fontana. This album has a feel of being very current with current dance beats but never loosing the original Berlin sound with some lovely ballads sprinkled in the album. The very first single from this album is entitled "It's The Way" which is a beautiful ballad. This single was co-written and produced by Bryan Todd who has worked with Big Time Rush and Jordan Sparks (just to name a few). On this album many of the tracks are written by Terri Nunn along with John King (part of The Dust Brothers who are award winning producers).

Background on Berlin: Terri Nunn is the original lead vocalist of the band who is still with Berlin was with the original founder of the band; John Crawford in 1979. The group started out and decided to bring a new sound that was big in Europe being New Wave (electronic music) to the United States. At first audiences were not sure what to think of the sound of Berlin being very different of the other hot music of the time but eventually around 1983 they were hitting a big stride, By this time they had two albums under their belts being "Information" (1980) and "Pleasure Victim" (1982) which spurred out hits such as "Masquerade" "The Metro"& "Sex (I'm A...)" along with performances on "American Bandstand"  and then performing at the huge US Festival in 1983 (Rock Day) for the festival which also featured that day alone; Los Lobos, U2, The Pretenders, Stevie Nicks, & David Bowie. This solidified that Berlin made it and were and still are a success.

Accolades for Berlin:
Berlin's history is permanent where they have received twelve gold and platinum awards (thus far) for their music. Terri Nunn is also part of VH1's "100 Greatest Women of Rock" being at #11!

Discography:

  • Information (1980)
  • Pleasure Victim (1982)
  • Love Life (1984)
  • Count Three & Pray (1986)
  • Voyeur (2002)
  • 4Play (2005)
  • Animal (2013)

    Britney Spears says "Work Bi*ch!"

Like her or not, there is no denying Britney Spears is a superstar. Since bursting on to the pop scene in 1998 with her debut single “… Baby One More Time” Britney has churned out hit after hit and has been the most consistent maker of hit songs for over a decade. She has been criticized on her talent and her personal life has had its fair share of ups and downs (who can forget the hair shaving escapade) but her resilience, star quality and likeability has kept her at the top of her game for 15 years and she is back with a bang!

“Work Bitch” is the lead single from her forth coming, eighth studio album and what a belter it is. Co-written and produced by will.i.am and featuring Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso on the credits, this is a bold slice of futuristic dance-pop. “Leaked” one day ahead of its official world premiere this single has hit written all over it!  This dance floor stomper is somewhat a risk for Britney to use as a lead single for a new album, but a risk I predict will pay off massively. Unlike
Gaga’s “Applause” where I had to listen to it several times before I fell in love with it, this has instant likability factor and no doubt will be blaring in gay clubs worldwide from tonight.

The beat is banging and from the get go punches you square on the face.  The sound is very current and makes me want to shake my pie in ways that would make my father turn in his grave! Vocally it’s weak but hey that’s not what makes Brits special now is it? Most of it is talk-sung with short parts previewing her trademark, nasally, head voice. She is certainly no Celine Dion! Lyrically it isn’t genius either - “You want to live fancy? Live in a big mansion? Party in France? You better work bitch.” But it’s fun just like Britney! As the beat leads up to the chorus you feel the tension and you just know it’s nearly time to go wild on the floor. When she tells you “Now get to work bitch” at this point, if you have long hair, you should swing it Britney style and if you don’t you better pretend you fucking do!

This single affirms Ms. Spears’ rightful place on the throne. She has what a lot of new artists fail to have. Staying power! She has done it again looking fabulous into the bargain. 8/10 from me, it’s a futuristic, forward thinking delight. Just like her good self, this song is FIERCE! It’s got me a little moist at the thought of her new album.

The girl is back on form. Still got it, never lost it!

    It’s Britney Bitch!

    98 Degrees is 2.0!

98° yes that is right the group 98 Degrees is back with a brand new album entitled; "2.0" The men Drew Lachey, Nick Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre are back! This group premiered with their self entitled album. This album released hit singles such as "Invisible Man." They have gone on to since their premiere sell 10 million records and have either Top 40 singles. Other noteworthy hits from 98 Degrees are: "I Do (Cherish You)" "The Hardest Thing"  "My Everything" "Give Me Just One Night" "Because Of You" "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)" & "Thank God I Found You"
    with Mariah Carey.

These men came out just when the boy bands were hot such as N'Sync and The Backstreet Boys which seemed everyone had their own personal favorite (even if they did not want to admit it). It is great to see after the break since 2002 that these men are still sophisticated and holding true to their roots musically not trying to be anything else.

This year 98 Degrees has been busy with the release of "2.0" along with touring with NKOTB (new kids on the block) and Boyz II Men which was a huge success. Perhaps, this arrangement for touring we will see again. Along with the album singles such as "Microphone" and "Impossible Things."

The entire album consisting of 10 tracks and 2 bonus is well worth the listen from start to finish where these men go from what we know and enjoy (ballads, up beat, and songs with a latin feel). Their are no big changes to the men and their sounds only that they hold steady with good material and hopefully will continue to release additional music in the near future.

Celine Dion "Loved Me Back To Life"

Celine Dion the global powerhouse DIVA is finally releasing a single; "Loved Me Back To Life." This is going to be part of a forthcoming album being released in November.

The first English album since her 2007's album; "Taking Chances" it is a long awaited album to her
fans around the world. Her always powerful vocals with pulse pounding tracks that will leave you in tears or empowered. "Loved Me Back To Life" is another track that is a signature sound for Celine.

Just a taste of some of the lovely lyrics very suited for a Celine song: You loved me back to life, life
From the darkness the wait is over./You loved me back to life, life/From the darkness, we’re lovers again tonight./ Back to life, back to life, back to life, back to life, yeah

This album being released later this year will feature collaborations with great singers such as; Ne-Yo, Babyface, and the one and only Stevie Wonder. This will be a "must have" for all Celine fans and will have you smiling ear to ear.
